Mercury Madness

“Silver” amalgam

Over the past few months the Aerotoxic Association has become aware of the health problems caused by dental amalgam. Often referred to as “silver amalgam” its main constituent is actually mercury at 50%, with silver alloy at 35%. Mercury is one of the most toxic substances known to man, but the dental industry has claimed for years that when in the form of amalgam in your mouth it is inert. However there is substantial evidence which shows this is not the case, and a large number of people have suffered terrible health effects caused by mercury amalgam.

As with contaminated cabin air in aircraft, people are affected by amalgams to different degrees, but as with most toxins, everyone has a different threshold of tolerance. Some people can detoxify faster than the toxins are put in, and using the leaky bucket analogy, if you throw toxins in fast enough, once the bucket overflows, that’s when you’re in trouble and symptoms will start to manifest themselves.

Synergistic effects

It is believed that mercury has a synergistic effect with other neurotoxins, meaning that the effect of the toxins acting together is much greater than the sum of each. The neurotoxins most likely to be found in the blood due to aircraft cabin air contamination are nickel, benzene derivatives and probably the most toxic of all, tricresyl phosphate, although this is more difficult to detect as it quickly metabolises into other substances. When the source of the mercury is removed, the body can more easily address the issue of removing all other toxins and the process of new neural growth.

In view of this information, some of our members who have been suffering with Aerotoxic Syndrome have had their amalgams replaced with composite fillings using strict guidelines to reduce exposure to mercury vapour as the old fillings are extracted.

In this article, Drugs v OPs, we look at the medication drugs that can react badly to sufferers of OP poisoning.
