NetJets kept unserviceable aircraft in service, endangering passengers and seriously injuring a pilot.

On April 11, 2006 First Officer Gibbs and his Captain, both NetJets pilots, reported for duty to fly their employer’s Cessna Citation Excel, registered CS- DFR at London City airport. The pilots were informed by an engineer there was problem with the air conditioning system on the previous flight, but that the aircraft was fit for service. The aircraft was flown to Dublin, Ireland without incident.


 

This passenger from Belgium experienced symptoms after every flight in an Avro RJ 100 aircraft.

 

This passenger suffered symptoms for the best past of five years after a fume event in 2003. After a flight on an A319 in August 2010 and another fume event, he has had a reoccurrence of his health problems.

Testimony of Leonard Lawrence

Leonard Lawrence had been a patient and subject to the Court of Protection.

Hospital Medical Director: Leonard Lawrence:

"He was then medicated to the extent that he lost mental  capacity. During the period the Official Solicitor of the Supreme Court acted as his Guardian ad Litem, three Court of Protection medical certificates (CP3s) had been obtained but not registered with the Court of Protection. He was, therefore, for nearly 18 months regarded as a mentally ill patient without access to the Court of Protection. During this time considerable amounts of his assets went missing".


 

This is an anonymous report received by NASA and forwarded to Embraer, the aircraft manufacturer. The report was written by a first officer concerned with the frequent fume events in the EMB-190 aircraft and the health effects it was causing him and his colleagues.
