Aerotoxic Syndrome question in Parliament

With the numerous items of independent evidence of aircraft cabin air quality problems and many documented cases of associated Aerotoxic Syndrome, coupled with the continued assertion of a lack of evidence from the aviation establishment, we find it amazing that the UK's government still appears to be very reluctant to look into this issue.

Although the Department for Transport is conducting research into cabin air quality (which is highly flawed in our opinion), the Department of Health seems completely uninterested in Aerotoxic Syndrome, as demonstrated by the Department of Health's Dawn Primarolo's answer (below) in parliament three days ago.

We have written to MP Dawn Primarolo to urge her department to take this illness seriously and get it accepted, and we would like to encourage you to do likewise.

Health, Aerotoxic Syndrome

Gisela Stuart (Birmingham, Edgbaston, Labour)
To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether his Department is conducting research into the condition referred to as aerotoxic syndrome.

Dawn Primarolo (Minister of State (Public Health), Department of Health; Bristol South, Labour)

The Government's interest in issues to do with aerotoxicity rests primarily with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport. The Department has not commissioned research on the topic.
