| From: Betts-Gray, Mary Dear Mr Hoyte I am writing in response to your request (attached) made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We have consulted with the relevant people and the information you requested is not held by Cranfield University. Your request does not refer to an item of information or data, but asks for our opinion on how long a typical scientific test takes. There is no single answer to this question and so any reply would be only a matter of judgement, would be heavily context dependent and would have to be accompanied by caveats so as to be meaningless as a general statement e.g. “a typical test under normal circumstances with no unusual chemical process and with good quality samples may be expected to take 'x' weeks, but every situation is different”. Should you have any queries with regard to the above information please do not hesitate to contact me. If you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been dealt with please refer to our internal appeals procedure http://www.cranfield.ac.uk/legal/foi/page20447.jsp . If you remain dissatisfied with the handling of your request or complaint you have a right to appeal to the Information Commissioner at: The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. Yours sincerely Mary Betts-Gray Business Information Specialist / Freedom of Information Officer Tel: +44 (0)1234 754440 x3341 http://www.som.cranfield.ac.uk/som/mirc/ |
